The recorded heading at touchdown was 111.52 degrees. NASA named the spot Bradbury Landing on 22 August 2012, which would have been Ray Bradbury's 92nd birthday.",

One caveat on the latitude: the 1997 publications used the Mars convention of the day, planetographic latitude with west longitude. The modern IAU standard is planetocentric latitude with east longitude, and at 19 N the two differ by roughly 0.2 degrees, about 12 km. The longitude conversion here (360 minus 33.22) is exact, but the latitude should be read as good to a few kilometres rather than to the second decimal.",
