How many satellites are in orbit right now?

More than 16,000 active catalogued objects, with orbital data from CelesTrak refreshed every 2 hours, and more than 11,000 of them are Starlink. The live statistics page carries the exact count for today, broken down by country, network and orbit.

How accurate are the positions?

Positions are computed in your browser with the SGP4/SDP4 orbital propagation model from fresh two-line element data, the same maths used across the satellite-tracking industry. Pass predictions are typically accurate to within about 30 seconds.

What is a Starlink train?

Right after a launch, a batch of Starlink satellites flies in a tight line that looks like a string of pearls crossing the sky. azmth detects active trains automatically so you can plan to spot one before the satellites spread out.

Can I see one network on its own, like Starlink or Qianfan?

Yes. Open a network from the Satellite networks list above and press "Open the live tracker": the globe then shows only that network, with a chip naming it and one press to clear. The trackers page lists every network azmth counts, with how many of each are in the catalogue today.

Which satellite networks does azmth count?

Twelve. The internet and phone networks Starlink, OneWeb, Amazon Leo (formerly Project Kuiper), Qianfan, Guowang, Rassvet, Iridium and Globalstar, and the navigation systems GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou, each counted by how its satellites are named in CelesTrak's catalogue. Guowang is the awkward one: its production satellites are listed under the Chinese for "satellite internet, low orbit", so counting the name "Guowang" finds only a fraction of them.
